Message: Yeah, Aristotle and Pythagoras forgave everyone that didn't believe them when they said the world was round. What's the sense in living when you don't take a chance and try something different, or try to improve something that has already been done?
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: Check out the E-ram that supposedly blows over 900 but its still not enough to make any pressure on our motors. maybe if you bought 3 of em and a couple of optimas you could get 1 psi. But i dont think its worth it. that would be like 1,200 for like 10-15 hp and you just added 120 lbs to your ride. Electric isnt the way to go yet but its getting there. They have a video of an eram blowing up a garbage bag in like 1/2 second on their site. those things have some power but still not worth it when you figure cost and added weight.

Message: i was going to leave it to were the truck could still breathe through the filter. so it wouldn't have been gasping for air. like 4.7onNO2 said its just more added weight. i still think it would work just not worth the money and fabrication.

Message: I was pizzin around in the garage this summer with some 120MM 12V 170CFM computer fans, real noisy highoutput type. I had them stacked 4 high and 4 across,,, 680CFM! Anywho I had them running off a variable voltage and current power supply and they would suck down about 6 amps of power whem running full bore. 4.7onN02 mentioned the Eram could blow a bag up in 1/2 seconds,,, so could these, one of those big 55 gallon b@stards. It was my RAID array of 120MM fans LOL.
The problem,,, fan's would hardly produce and static pressure, they would only push 3-4 inches of water. This is about .01 # of pressure, not impressive at all but I said WTF let's connect it to the engine. The fans were able to keep up with the engine and produce some positive pressure,,, unless the engine was idling and you floored it. The fans couldn't spin up quick enough and became a restriction.
My intent was not to produce boost, but equalize the pressure in the intake with the outside atmosphere. Instead of the engine having to suck in air, there would be positive-neutral pressure between the intake and atmosphere. As soon as the pistons start to travel down they would be filled by the positive pressure,,, ever so slight as it might be.
Who know's it might produce nothing or it might make a couple of HP. I got bored with it and used one of the fans to cool my amps..........
Just something to think about,,, outside the box.

Message: i was thinking of other things that would work and that computer fan idea is not that bad. but to get it to fuel a v8 that sucks 700cfm is not going to be easy. that leaf blower would work just not sure how well. anything helping the engine get more air is going to assist in get more power.
still thinking out of the box...
