Message:
Error Codes: I use a scanner - Key-ON/OFF method doesn't seem to work on the 98+ models that well.
Thermostat: RobertShaw - Hands down.
Exhaust: Flowmaster, Gibson, Borla, Dynomax, etc. They all work well but it's mainly the sound that you'll need to decide on. If you want Stainless, Gibson or Borla.
Intake System: Intense Performance (K&N doesn't have an official release date yet...let alone pricing.)
Throttle Body: 69mm or 70mm will work just fine but have no data on the MPG at this time.
Spark Plugs: Autolite 3924 (Copper...no platinums!)
Best Mods: See the above list. ;)

Message: Hmmmmm...Im no Bernd but I can regurgitate things that I have already learned in this great forum.(If I get it wrong somebody feel free to correct me) To pull the codes you turn your ignition on - off - on - off - on and leave it, then watch your check engine light. After a second the light will go off then it will flash your code (example - 3 flashes, a pause then 4 flashes would be a code 34). You can get a Chiltons or Haynes manual that will tell you what the codes mean. As for the thermostat everyone in here seems to like the Robert Shaw 180 degree TS. I could not find one locally myself and just put a reg 180 ts in. As for the best cat back sys. It all seems to be a matter of preference. Alot of people seem to go with the flowmaster 40 or 50 series or the gibson system, I went with the Mopar 3 in SS catback sys (gonna do a high flow cat when It finally comes to). For your AIT system... I used the K&N Gen 2 FIPK cause I think its the only sys that replaces the factory airhat(I could be wrong), but the Airraid and the Z-Tube are also popular(alot of people are going home made too). I think that the TB will actually increase your gas milage, without the heavy foot that is. And finally seems like the AL 3923 is the universal plug for our magnum engines and is highly recomended. WHEW did I get it right???
Again Im not claiming to be an expert, these are all things I have learned listening to Bernd and the other knowledgeable people in here.
Good Luck...........

Message: For what it is worth, after seeing many of the fault code retrival mehtods that have been talked about.I have found in the 1999 Dodge shop manual, page 8E-6 the following self diagnostic test that checks the instrument cluster and CCD data bus message-controlled indicator lamps, and for the other codes a DRB scan tool is required. 1. ignition off, 2. press and hold the trip reset knob, 3. turn the ignition switch to on but do not start, 4. hold the reset knob for approx 10 seconds or until the word CHEC appears in the display then release. If no fault codes appear (110,920,921,940,950,or 999)the instrument cluster will begine a walking segment and gauge test,to long to go into it all but the needles move.

Message: Try airmax intake, it will swirl the air before the TB and also TB spacer by speed perf. is Helix to do the same thing. both parts are installed on mine and they work great! You could use a jet chip, but it doesn't remove rev and speed limiter so wait for KRC to have a flash. Ever think about Dual side exhaust? Magnaflo also have a great stainless steel muffler, plus it is built thicker than Borla and the ends are also sealed better. The Magnaflo come with lifetime warranty to any fault.
