Message: This weekend I raced my freinds 80's Trans am GTA with a 5-speed. I rode in it and it seemed pretty fast. Then later we decided to line em up. I figured I would get smoked but I was side by side, even ahead a little till he would shift, I was right with him up to 95MPH then he started gainin a little. Does anyone know what these cars run in the quarter mile. I would like to know to give me an idea of what I run.
96, RC, 318 Auto, Gibson headers, JBA Y-pipe, carsound cat, dual exhaust, K&N intake, IAT adjuster

Message: Stock they should run mid to low 15's which should be on par with your dakota.

Message: I have an 88 GTA that i built. When it was pretty muck stock it would pull a low 15 or even touched 14s when i had her tuned well. But since he has the 5 speed that means hes running a 305 instead of the 350 and that is more toward mid 15s. Still mad that they wouldnt build a 350 5 speed :(

Message: 5.2LDak you shoudl be running high 14s with a good launch.....and if you have gears like 3.92s. I ran a 15.13 with my 3.55 and my mods but they were on street tires and could only take off so easy. With slciks or drag radials I now should be running 14.6s
1999 RC Auto 5.2L Mopar PPH, Magnaflow 3"/Cut-out, K&N FIPK, Viper Electric Fan Kit, 3.90s/Suregrip Track Times: 60' - 2.163 1/8 - 9.53 @72.19 mph 1/4 -14.89 @91.24 mph

Message: Today I Found out it wasnt really a GTA. I thought it was because is had the 350 in it. He pulled the orginal motor (305) and tranny out of it and put in a 350 with a T-5. He just took it too the track yesterday and ran a 14.8 with street tires so that seems about par with my dakota. Yes I do have 3.92 gears. Hes has the 3.23's in his trans am.

Message: GTAs came with both 350s and 305s. It was an option you could get the 350 with auto or for $300 less get the 305 with a T-5

Message: Thanks for clearing that up. I was a little confused about the whole GTA thing. I dont think my friend knows that the GTA's came with 305's so maybe his is acutally a GTA. He got it from some hillbilly and most the car was stripped. Is there any way to tell If it is a GTA or not?

Message: Shades of the "Mopar Action" 1993 story of a '93 RC 5.2 3:92 Dak running against a 275HP Trans-Am 6-speed, and a 5.0 Mustang GT 5-speed! The Dak ran 14.9 bone stock, and 14.4 with a 25HP MP computer, K&N drop-in, and some air inlet and tranny shift tweeks. Running 14.4, the Dak lost to the T/A by only one length in the quarter. The Mustang couldn't get out of the 15's.
