Message: Does the SuperChip do away with the slow return to idle on the 4.7l? I was out screwing around with mine today, & that just irritated the snot out of me!! I had almost forgotten about it, but was reminded as I was trying out the results of the stock airhat combined with a cheap a$$ cold air kit w/a K&N cone stuck on the end of it (was a 3 beer project, so no test drive). The engine would rev fine & then get stuck on the down swing at about 1500 rpm for a second or so, and finally make its way back down to 500-600 rpm. I remember that someone posted abt a year or so ago that this was programmed for lower emissions. Please tell me the SuperChips fixes this.

Message: My '00 4.7 doesnt do that either - smoothly returns to idle. I don't think that's normally characteristic of this engine as you seem to claim; maybe a problem with yours ? Throttle hanging up ?

Message: My '01 4.7 will do that from time to time,,pretty common,,,but I'm used to it. I don't think it means anything is wrong though. Doesn't happen in gear though.

Message: IAC sticking could be the problem.
Mine has been rock steady before and after my mods.

Message: Mine doesn't do it in gear either, but it still aggravates me when in neutral/park. I've cleaned everything previously, & even swapped throttle bodies along with the sensors. It is consistent in that it just hangs on the way down at about 1300-1500 rpm. Nothing has changed this and it has done it since new.
