Subject: O2 simm IP: Logged
Message: I am in the process of upgrading my exhaust.I am moving up to a full 3" system. I bought an O2 simm to replace the after cat )2 sesor. On the instructions it said to check the pin labeled number 1 for 12 volts with the key on. I only got 4. Should I be worried about using this sensor?? as it warns that I have to have 12 volts to it.
Oh yeah got the transmission bug out.

Message: 4v sounds like the lead from the computer. You should check the others for 12v.

Message: The 10-12 volts is supplied by the ASD for only about three seconds when the engine isn't running so if you are doing it yourself you have to be reeeeeeealy fast. Either have someone help you or if you can reach it back probe it while the engine is running.
Are you sure that it isn't .4 volts that you are reading? That would be ok for sensor signal lead. The other two wires are ground.

Message: I got somewhat the same readings your getting when I installed my simms. N56629 is right about the 3 second time. I have had my simms for almost a year now and have had no problems at all. I have a 2002 R/T so the connectors were different than the ones on the simms were. Needless to say I had to do some splicing work so they would plug in. Plug it in Riv and go! Good luck

Message: Today I got a hold of Casper Electronics and they said that that was normal. Pretty much same as what you guys said. Hopefull I'll have everything up and running by this weekend. Biggest problem is getting the stock exhaust apart without destroying it.(I'd like to put the truck back to stock in the far future)A set of torches would help make things a lot easier.
