Subject: 15's or 16's IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, I got a ? for you all.
I currently have a 97 Dakota, club cab, 3.9, 4X4. I have factory 15 inch rims with BFG All Terrain Ta 31s on it. I was wondering if you guys think I should put 32s on these rims or should i get 16 inch rims and keet 31's? Pro's vs Con's?
As it is now it just looks like there is waay to much space between the tires and wheel wells
I wont be getting new tires for about 6 months yet but I'd like time to think about it and maybe shop around for the new rims if thats what i decide.
Thanks for any/all help.

Message: i don't think it matters what size rim you have. 31's will be 31" tall and 32"s will be 32" tall no matter what rim they are on.

Message: I would stay with the 15", usually from what I have seen the bigger the diameter of the wheel the more expensive the tire/wheel is .

Ok, now im sure this question has been asked before but since i have the thread going already here goes....try not to flame me to bad..
What are the biggest tires I can put on this truck with the 15inch rims without alot of rubbing on the hard turns. With the 31s I have now it just looks like there is waay to much space in the wheel wells.
Thanks guys,
Mac

Message: Crank ur T-bars and put on 32's. Looks way better then 31's. Personally I think 32's should've been stock cuz there is a lot of space between tire and wheel well.

Message: I been thinkin bout crankin the T-bars but does that mean i have to raise the rear end at all? If so how do most folks accomplish it?
thanks Adam

Message: I raised the rear with Roadmaster Active Suspension and I'm very pleased with it, or it can be done cheaply with a spacer block. Wether you need to also raise the rear will depend on how you like the look of how your Dak sits - some sit lower in front, so raising torsion bars just evens them out. Going from 31" to 32" only gives you an extra 1/2" in ground clearance; but will have the effect of running a taller gear ratio. Will you be happy with the slower performance this will cause in your v6 ?

Message: Will the 32" tires fit without cranking the T-bars?
Nother ?, Is there another Tire size that might help me out with my wheel well "space" issue besides 32s?
Im not to concerned with going fast. If i wanted fast i'd have a sports car. A Truck is a truck after all ya know.
Thanks for all the input guys.
