Subject: May Sound Dumb but... IP: Logged
Message: How hard is it to swap out engines? I have a blown 4.7L 01 Dakota and a friend has a 4.7L out of a 01 Dakota I can have. How hard is it to line up the engine with the AutoTrans? Anything special I should know? Im not worried about the rest, Im just worried about hooking it up to the trans (and the Torq. Conv.)
Thanks for any help,
Todd

Message: It's not hard you just slide them together and put all the bolts in.

Message: Not sure how the engine blew. I bought it for $800 and the body is perfect (inside and out). It is a black Regular Cab Motorsport Ed. The guy said he was always on it. I'm guessing more of bad maintance than anything; the oil is real bad. OD says 62,318 miles. Thanks for the replys. I am going to be tackling this project in the coming weeks.
