What's up with the 'hick' comment? You start to come accross as semi decent, then blow it with more un-necessary name calling. What grade are you in??

It seems to run fine so i assume its my fault. maybe it is the plugs, ill ask the dealer about it but i think they'll say its normal. Long Island is terrible on gas milage, I'm gonna drive to NC, so we'll see how the milage is then. got to go to sleep now. nice talking with you.

I had my truck weighed and was surprised at the results. The info in the door put the weight at 5620-actual weight was 4680 with me and my nine month pregnant girlfriend. Before, anyone goes off on me-NO, I did NOT do any 0-60 runs with her in the truck.

Message: Um I was looking at the title of the thread and reading your posts. The 4.7 can give you some butt kicking performance. However, its hard to overcome weight, gearing and drive train loss of power. The RC weighs in at 3600 lbs you couple that to a 4.7 with a 3.92 rear and the Dak is gonna giddy up and give some TR/T's a run for their money. Anything else will detract from that, CC's QC's, Auto, 4WD, AWD, 3.55. You wouldn't think ther would be that big of a difference in performance in the same line of trucks with the same engine, but a QC weighs amost 1200lbs more than an RC. I'm no truck guru, I just got lucky, the dealer had an RC 4.7/5sp/3.92 on the lot.

According to the G-Tech, my HP is around 220 at the wheels. I'm going to do more runs and get an average. So far, I've got two runs with 216 and one with 220. They were on different roads on different days, temps around the same (30-35). But, I think those runs are pretty good indicators on where my trucks is now.

anyway, I've got a 95 3.9 2wd 5speed and I'm fairly happy with my 0-60 times. But my first gear winds out too quick, and the long throw of the stick doesn't make for fast shifts, unless it's 3rd to 4th. I'm pretty good at that one.
The only mods I have are, 8mm wires, KN dropin, Dynomax, and a new clutch. Last time we went at it with a stopwatch it was somewhere in the 8's.
and if you won't kiss my ass, will you at least kiss my tailgate? :-}

http://www.missouri.edu/~apcb20/times.html
As for the Lightnig Ford'S SVT rated it at 6.2 sec 0-60 for 1999-2000 which if you think about it is pretty high for a truck that runs 13's. the 2001 is rated at 5.8 sec. You can check it out at:

Performance
The standard 3.9L Magnum V6 with 175 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque offers strong power with impressive fuel economy. With a 5spd, it was tested at 8.5s to 60mph ... not bad at all. But for true fun, try the Next Generation 4.7L Magnum V8 with 235 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Motor Trend tested the 2WD Quad Cab with a 0-60 mph time of 7.3s. Mighty impressive. And then there's the 5.9L Magnum V8 with 245 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque (or 250 hp and 345 lb-ft on R/T). Expect 0-60 mph in 7.0s - 7.4s.
