About a year or so ago, I read about upgrading the front brakes to 2003+ setup. It involved knuckles, rotors, calipers, and maybe hubs.. but I cant find the post, I searched with no luck..
So has anyone else done this? is it a big improvement? Costs?
I need to do rotors and pads on my 02' QC, so i thought i would look into this...

you may also have to have the 16" wheels if you don't already to clear the bigger rotors.

I remember the guy got his 03-04 front brake setup from a bone yard for $2-300, spindles, calipers, rotors, brake lines, etc. Think he also had non-ABS front brakes.

I had an 00 CC and now have a 03 QC. It's a night and day difference between the 2 trucks in braking and brake quality. I just replaced the brake pads on my 03 at 40K because they were squeeling. No problems with warped rotors at all on the 03, sanded the glaze off the rotors, put new pads on, Smoooooth as glass ;-)

On my 00 I had replaced the pads and rotors several times because of warping. I finally broke down and popped $200 for drilled and slotted rotors and good pads. This solved the rotor warping on the 00, but I think my 03 brakes feel more solid than the 00 with drilled and slotted or even the crappy stock rotors.

$200 for drilled and slotted or $2-300 for better calipers and rotors from a bone yard??? If I had the choice I'd jump all over the 03 brakes, the components just flat out better than the previous years. If you have a chance to compare the 2 brake setups you'll be surprised how much better the 03-04 brakes are.
