I'm thinkin about going with the K&N FIPK, but it only adds 8hp according to them. I've seen some advertised up to 15hp. Anybody know of anything better than the K&N?

ignore him. Most people here make a home brew intake for their 4.7s. If you don't want to make your own, IMO, K&N is the best one out of all the intakes out there.

Check out AFE intakes, it puts the air filter right behind the rubber flap just like the 3.9/5.2/5.9 kits. And has a box to shield it from hot air. I have one on my 3.7, had to mod it very slightly since its no 4.7. They are pricey from the company direct, but visit here, they have them for half the price.

After reading about the different intakes and looking at manufacture's websites, I'm leaning towards a Volant or 360 Intakez. I've been holding out to see if the Z-Tubes will come back on the market, but don't know when that will be (if it ever will).

I have a Gen II FIPK, I love it,
combined with a 70mm F/B TB, it makes one helluva sound when at WOT, or barely open Throttle

I received my 360 the other day and am impressed with it's construction. I have not had the chance to use it yet because my Fastman TB is on the way and I want to install it on there.
The best part about the 360 is that it is about 1/2 the price of the KNN.

Homebrew air intakes done correctly work just as well, and can be built for $100-$125. One good post is "What is the best intake?".
