I have a 2001 durango slt,4x4,with 3.55 open axles. I plan on buying the gibson headers and the GS motorsports true dual split rear exit exhaust. Does anyone else have a similar set-up? I also am geting:
*Suncoast creations ram air hood
*Superchips programer
*Mopar HO cams and intake
*and Bosch plantnum +4 spark plugs.
Would this combo give me a good gain in power?,and would any other mods be a good idea to go with this? Larger Throttle body? Thanks.

scratch the manifold off your list and replace it with a larger throttle body. the h.o. manifold provides minimal gains at best, and that is at the sacrifice of low end torque for high rpm horsepower, something that would not benefit a heavy 4x4 durango with 3.55's. actually, the ram air hood won't really do a whole lot either, your money would be much better spent on 4.10's or 4.56's.

Yes DG, those mods would work great. You could go with HO cams or KRC performance 206 cams. I've talked to them and they said the 206 cams work great with heavy 4x4's. The only draw back is the price of the cams. I have the HO's and notices a nice increase. With your 2001 PCM you could get a custom Mike Leach flash. It helps to put all your mods together. The superchips is more for stock engines. I do have a superchips also and there is a nice increase in performance with 93 oct. The shifts are also greatly improved at WOT. You would get more out of the flash than a superchips tuner though. A larger throttle body will help put those two mods together. The fastman and F&B are both great quality. Its a matter of price. Those would be the three mods that I would do first(cams, flash or superchips, and throttle body. I wouldn't waste your money on the Bosch Plugs. The coils on the 4.7's don't really like the plantnum. Just change your plugs at regular intervals and you'll have be at top HP. The air ram hood probably would help a little since it is taking in cool outside air. I don't know much about the ram air hood, but have heard good things about the shaker hood. The air filters sits right on the throttle body pretty much. Very low restriction. I would do the headers and exhaust last. You really don't need true duals until you have done the other mods.
