Subject: Squealing Tires......Hot Weather IP: Logged
Message: This one kid doesn't understand that squealing tires is alot harder when it is hot outside. i mean in the 80s - 90s, and very Humid.
he doesn't believe me when I say that the tires stick better when it is hot outside. and thus reducing the chances of squealing the tires.

Message: I know what you mean. For example, at the track, you do a burnout to heat up the drive tires before the race i.e. more traction.

Message: makes sense.
I guess it is just the laws of Physics.
I did notice that when I was giving him a test drive, it was alot quicker when I didn't squeal my tires.
alot quicker off the line.
when I would be driving on a moderate day, non-humid, I can light up the tires without even giving much gas, alot of times I do it by accident.
I guess that the less you squeal your tires, the quicker you will go.
I can squeal them pretty good hitting third, @ 60 mph, but not on a hot sticky day.
the bad thing is, the more I light up my tires, the quicker they will bald up, and it probably isn't good on my clutch or transmission either.
so, I will keep it at a minimum, unless I want to make alot of trips to the shop.

Message: Yep
When you light the tires up before a race, you're heating them up, because hot tires stick better. Like NASCAR. Their tires get so hot that melted rubber gets stuck to the fender wells after their several hundred laps and few sets of tires. I think they also fill their tires up with nitrogen instead of air, so it resists the pressure of the high temps. Those cars have an exceptional amount of traction.

Message: Actually, those nascar tires can get so hot they can catch fire momentarily. (they go out due to the wind from the car's speed)

Message: all is well, It was a little dryer yesterday, and I tried chirping them again, hitting 2nd, and 3rd, and I could do it well, just like I remember, so I know I don't have much power loss from larger tires,
plus my truck has 80,000 miles, and I had a tune up recently, it feels just as the day I bought it.

Message: not to mention that we r down on horsepower because of the thinner heated air, you really nead to make sure you cold air intake doesnt leak.
