Subject: R/T OR NOT R/T? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 dakota r/t. When I bought the truck used from a reputable dealer it had 17x9 inch r/t wheels and tires on it. But today I noticed that the door tag said that the truck should have 15x8 inch wheels. Is this because that production date is 9-98? Anyone know why this is?

Message: My door jam doesn't have the right sticker either. Does your truck have a 360 with an auto, 3.92 gears, 2wd? If so its probably an R/T.

Message: My R/T has like 235/75/15 listed as the stock tires. I guess its a common thing with some of the 98-99's. The most certain way to tell if it's and R/T or not is look at the VIN, the 8th one in will be a Z.

Message: The tag in the glove box confirms that it has 3.92 gears. And it is a 360, and plenty of r/t stickers. I just found it odd that the door tag, which is a important part of info for any auto, would be wrong. Thanks for the help guys.

Message: That door jamb sticker seems to be commonly wrong, my '00 lists 235x75-15 on 15x7 rims; truck came with 31x10.5-15 on 15x8s.

Message: I have a 2000 dakota r/t rc and i know for a fact it is an r/t yet it says my stock tires should be 225/55/17, and it has the 255s on it, so i guess there are a lot of mistaken door jam tire size identities.

Message: it's listed the wheel/tire package as equiped without the special appearance options.
without the R/T package, your truck would probably have 15x8's
my door jamp was listed as having 15x6 steelies.. but since it has the sports package, it came with the 15x7 sport wheels.
if kowalski's truck wasnt a 4x4, it would have the 235/75 tires
it's basically listing the minimum tires/wheel for that truck's weight.
