 Subject: HELP!!!!

just got my new cam in and every thing back to gether got it to start but every time i let off the gas or try to give it more it trys to die and almost right after i got it to start the headers turned very red. any ideas on what might be wrong and how to fix it. thanks for any help you can give me.

It sounds like the cam is degree'd wrong.I'm a backass mechanic(I've only built chevies,prior) but it sounds like you didn't line up the cam and crank gear just right. Your camshaft is out of phase.
