Subject: If you had to choose, which one???

I got on summit.com and went through all of the air filters and ended up with two that could work for my 2001 4.7. I am about to install the HO intake manifold and 72mm throttle body so I made a 4" intake out of PVC pipe. I had intentions of buying a K&N, but a RS Akimoto filter popped up unexpectedly and I didn't know too much about it. The part numbers are KNN-RF-1008 for the K&N filter and AVC-01875 for the RS Akimoto filter. Has anyone heard of this RS Akimoto filter and have any pros or cons about it? Which one would you pick if you had a choice?

i would pick k&n simply because they're more reputable than a filter i've never heard of. i guess it's really just your choice, but like i said i would go with k&n.

I have heard of the Racing Sport Akimoto filter. Their filters are designed for the smoothest possible airflow, the top of and bottom metal pieces of the cone are curved to promote a smooth transition from the cone to the piping. They have flow charts on their site that say they outflow k&n, but i dunno. I would go with an intense performance pro-flow filter if you wanted the absolute best filter there is, they are not cheap, but there arent any nicer ones.
