What gears? Higher number gears give you the best bang for the buck in acceleration. Right after that is nitrous.

Adding more power to the engine will quickly overpower the stock chassis. I would start there with at least a Shelby style traction bar and adjustable drag shocks. Be sure to disconnect the sway bar before each run.

Then do the basics: Reprogramm the computer, better intake, long tube headers, HO cams and intake, etc.

If you need more power than that, you'll have to dig in to the engine and make changes.

Here ya go:
Air intake
larger throttle body (fastman or F&B)
HO manifold 03/04
KRC performance 206 cams
Headers (JBA's)
Custom 2.5" true dual exhaust with X pipe
Custom PCM flash (Mike Leach)
4.10 gears W/Auburn limited slip

This might get you into the 14s

Many club cab guys who are 2wd and stick can run 14's on these mods. With an auto and heavier 4x4, it will be much harder.

If you buy a supercharger and leave everything else stock, you will spend about the same as all the mods listed above, but will be putting down more HP to the wheels and running faster.

Is there specific reason you don't want to get a supercharger? Just curious. It is alot of money up front, but its something i wish i had done from the start.

Hey Android287 yeah I am just not very good with my hands and didn't wanna jump into something as big as a supercharger, i just don't no a whole lot about them and what it would do to my truck cause its a daily driver and all just didn't wanna throw down that kinda money and have it in the shop every other week. I don't have a real problem with one just a little timid to go all out.

RaiderJM, ya i understand you reasoning, it is a big chunk of change. Well for starters, i would look into a cam swap. Mopar HO cams from a HO 4.7 or KRC performance's 206 cams. The 206 will provide more power, but do cost quite a bit more. Check out the dyno page at www.krcperformance.com As for the install you could try to do it yourself. There are many good website and instructions for this, or you could have a performance shop or dealer help you out. I had my dealer do my cam swap for 300 bucks. A computer flash would drastically help your cams. The Mike Leach flash is proably the best out there. The only thing is you have to do is sent your PCM out to them. Turn around times is usually very quick and is probably less than a week. A ported throttle body will also put these two mods together. I recommend the true 68mm throttle body from the fastman. Its cheap and he does quality work. These three mods will give you the best bang for your buck in the performance department.

you've got a 4X4 automatic clubcab and you want better performance? for crips sake, it's a flippin truck... a 4X4 truck... a 4X4 truck with an automatic... a 4X4 truck with an automatic and clubcab... save the bucks you'd have to dump in your truck to shave a second and buy an old trans am or something. fart around in that. use your 4X4 automatic clubcab for some fun offroading and moving your neighbors sofa on the weekend. sheeeesh....

Dude, there is nothing wrong with having a faster daily driver! We are talking about 1500 dollars in mods to put an ear to ear grin on our face. Where the heck are we gonna find a sports car to tinker around for that price. Well...one that runs. This is a performance board. If you don't like it get out!
