Or you could mod the hell out of it and get some nice smokey 4 wheel burnouts! Now that is something I would like to see.

Pizzy,

To the best of my knowledge, almost all "chamberd" muflers, which have no packing or fiberglass in them tend to resonate more in the cab of the vehicle there on. Also usualy the length of the muffler will determine the sound out put. so if you had the same model muffler but one was 12" and the other was 18" the 12" would be louder. Hope this helps.

Tires

Message:
Hello,

It is time for new tires on my 1998 Jeep Limited 5.9. The stock wheels are 16 x 7. The stock tires are P225/70 R16. I was looking to upgrade to a wider tire around the same height if possible. Does anyone know the widest tire that will fit this rim and the fender well? Any help is appreciated.

Eric

This is a great forum! Great advice! I have a
'98 Grand 5.9 with the only mod being a K&N
kit and ignition wires. I had read about
relocating the IAT but I am note sure if this
works with the K&N. Is this possible? Is the
right way to do it or would I be better to try to
find an IAT Adjuster? (sorry if I don't sound like
I know what I'm talking about. I am pretty
green on mods).

just discovered this site-great messages and input!
I have a '98 Grand w/5.9L. Just had the front diff. rebuilt by Chrys/Jeep dealer (at 55Kmiles). There's still a high pitched whine from the input shaft area from 45-55mph that's worse if you let off the accel. and coast at those speeds. Dealer says it's the 5.9/tranny combo. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
