Message: Stock 0-60 time is about 9.5 sec or so. To make a 30% improvement in that time is going to take some serious changes. Start by reprogramming the computer with a hypertech or similar. Then change the rear gears to 3.92 or 4.10.
After that, it's going to take some bux and effort to make significant improvements. Better cam and intake, headers, etc.

Message: you cant get your 0-60 times in the 6 sec range unless you do some major engine work. there is no extreme horsepower in a bottle. unless you run nitros. but I dont think that will get your time that low. I really dont know as I never messed with nitros. but like bob said cams, headers, intake and so on.
should of got a 05 mustang GT that has a 0-60 time od 5.1 seconds. owuld of saved you all that work your going to have to do to your motor.

Message: Just sell your truck and buy a Gen II, the 5.2 is 0-60 around 7 seconds. If thats not fast enough pull the motor and put a 440 or 383 in it. Oh yeah you said a daily driver, but you could outrun about every cop in your area

Message: I have 01 4.7 5spd rc, and it ran a 15.2 stock, I added full exhaust (icluding headers) intake, short throw, traction bars, HO cams/manifold, and TB. On drag radials with those mods i'm running consistent 14.0's and i've ran 13.9 before. hope this helps a bit

Message: I got them from competion engineering. they are the slide-a-links. They fit 87-99 dakotas, but i had no trouble installing them on my 01. they are on the expensive side, but they are worth every penny. I had trouble finding them on-line, so i went to my local spped shop and ordered them through there. The only downfall is that they are a ladder bar type, and are preloaded, so the truck tends to jump off the line a bit. Anyway hope that helped and good luck!

Message: Dakotasport you have to remember he's got a quad cab with an auto. Sure yours runs 14 0's but his is ALOT heavier and has an automatic so it will take alot more work to make his as fast as yours.
