Message: sorry no pics. prime and painted with spray after cutting to size. it was aluminum, not too thin. cut it with tin snips.

Message: If I'm not mistaken, HD sells plastic mesh, not aluminum. Expanded aluminum mesh is easy to work with and very durable. Let's face it, if you run into something, it doesn't matter what it's made of. The only problem with aluminum is painting it. Sometimes paint doesn't adhere very well.

Message: Something about putting a $5 piece of chicken wire from the hardware store in my grill to look good would make me feel like that guy with the wooden spoiler I saw in another thread... Regardless how good it looks I would always know what it really is. Can't do it.

You're the kind of guy that the aftermarket folks love. They can take the same "chicken wire" give it a paint job and sell it to you at a 1000% markup and you will brag about what a great deal you got.
I'm going to assume that either you don't know what "chicken wire" is or you were just being sarcastic.

But every single damn honda and cavalier here has the MESH in their grill. The Ricers with the wings and fart cans you know.
I kind of hate seeing something like that on a Truck like a Dak and have to think of them sh*t box Riced out cars, tsk tsk.

Message: To each their own, I hardly think that the stainless mesh in the grill of a Bentley or a Jaguar is ricer in any way. I take no offense to the comments made, but when they come from someone who has made an air intake from plastic plumbing fittings then has the balls to say what someone else has done is "RICER" it makes one sit back and grin.

I think I first saw clear or euro style tails on ricers. I believe ricer were the first place I noticed huge rims and very low profile tires. Personally, I don't like any of these on a truck. At one time I didn't like ground effects or flares on trucks but now I find myself installing a WingsWest body kit. YIKES!!!!

Message: No offense. But you see every Honda and Cavalier (out in Phoenix anyway) with some sort of glamourized mod to look like a RACE CAR or something.
There is no place to even GO FAST enough to use the huge wings they install. The fake dual exhaust, etc is also FAKE performance. Obviously I hate them sh*t boxes. So...
I just HATE seeing stuff starting to pop up on trucks (big boys toys) that resemble the million sh*t box cars I already see.
I MADE my air intake to get rid of that air hat that sits over the entire engine blocking my access to look at things. Plus I wanted to TRY to get some more flow if possible over the stock set up.
And I WASN'T going to pay for some $200 KIT that does NO better if even AS GOOD as a home brew.
There's nothing wrong with ABS. If I wanted to go Bling Bling, look at me rice, I'd used chrome pipe that conducts underhood HEAT :p

Oops, didn't think of that. There's so many of them out there, so I guess if they can figure it out, so can I.

Message: My solution, 3/32" aircraft cable with a loop at each end. I drilled a hole in the OE release handle looped one end through it and used a crimp on cable clamp to secure. The other end is a crimped loop that is just visable at the top of the lower opening when the hood is shut. Pop the inside release, then pull down on the cable loop while pulling up on the hood.
It has been in place since 99 not a single problem.
