Did you know you could order a Mopar Ho performance 360 Create moto at 305 HP and still put our more toruqe that the 348 cid Hemi engine?? Or could just buy a 380 HP stage motor and blow away the new some what Hemi.

That's right. It's what makes people individuals and not part of the herd. It's up to you if you want to be an individual with a 5.7 Hemi, a 426 hemi, a 426 Wedge, 413, 400 BB, or just another member of the herd with a crate engine or stroker.

Wow, some of you dakota guys are hardcore. I was checking out this forum because my hemi just arrived and I was looking for people to bounce ideas off of. I'm putting it in a '85 Ram 150 and so far it doesn't look to difficult. Knock on wood! Street & Performance has done several swaps and they are a good resource for install parts. As far as cost I bought my Hemi, CPU, Harnesses, 5spd Auto and it even came with the y pipe and fuel pump out of the tank for less than 3800 delivered to my door! I think it is a smokin' deal for a 7k mile motor. Not much more if any than a 360 w/od trans would cost! Don't get me wrong there are some issues that need to be solved but with an imagination almost anything is possible. I've seen a V8 in a late 80's D50 for goodness sake. At least a Dakota was available with a V8. Sorry to rant but just thought it was necessary!

a guy i know is putting a hemi in a 56 dodge truck
well, i wouldnt really call it a 56
hes custom buildinjg a frame to fit those big fat drag tires and basicly taking some of the body from the 56
i think it would be one hell of a truck

It will fit I'm putting a 5.7 hemi on a 88 Dakota frame and wrapping it up with a 49 international body . You can see it on youtube . Search 49 international with hemi.

So will a built 5.9 be a direct fit or swap for a
2000 dodge dakota with the 4.7 the 5.9 is coming
from a 2000 durango donner with 5.9 also is it
plug and go as far as the wire harness goes

Yes, the 360 cid motor was an option for the Dakota quad cab for that year, as was the Dakota R/T. But you will need a 518 auto to mate the engine you're swapping.
