Message: Galyion,
If spring wrap is causing the hop, consider installing Roadmaster Active Suspension. (Had been available from Summitt for about $169). Neat item-check the R.A.S. website. I've got it on my '00 QC (5.9 and Kenne Bell, among other stuff) and am very pleased with the performance in all respects.
Very good performance in load leveling as well as preventing wheel hop when I perform tire polishing activities on the 10.5x31 Toyo A/T skins.
RAS work similar to ladder bars without effecting ride, too. Pretty much transparent until called upon.
Best of all, it is a very simple install!!

Message: i instaled the powertrax on my 2003 and got the same problem. its a rapid thumping sound that lasts for a fraction of a second right? and it only happends right when you floor it off the line, or on very wet pavement? i had a thing called super spings on there, its a type of helper spring that is also suppose to stop or limit axle wrap. however they dont seem to do anything to eliviate the 'thumping' wheelhop problem. i tried removing them and tightening them, as well as adding sand bags. no effect. if you figure out a way to stop it, pass it on. untill them i suggest stimply dont go full open throttle right off the line. do it just a little more gradually

Message: I went to summit and bought Summit Sway Control Plus Kit (SUM-720004 - 39.95$) it seems to have fixed the problem 95 percent of the way the weird thing is i used to get wheel hop no matter the road conditions but now if the pavement is really wet i get it just as bad. i thougt wet pavement=less traction and less chance of wheel hop. i am gonna buy new tires (mine are bald and 40 dollar apiece cheapies) and diff shocks and see if that changes anything. on another note it really helped the rear sway prob i had. it was like putting a sway bar on the back
