Message: Do you think powdercoating a kegger will keep unwanted heat in the plenum? There are those that tell me the powdercoating will act like a barrier and wont let the heat disapate. Yes, only the exterior of the kegger will be coated. Your thoughts, opinions, suggestions, flames, bashings and insults are encouraged and welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Message: Powdercoating isn't much differant than paint in that respect. It will block some heat dissapation, but not enough to make a differance in most trucks.
You could put a thermal barrior in the bottom to block abosrption of engine heat. I think that would make a differance.

Message: .boB, Thanks for the input. You're the second person to repspond with the thermal barrier on the bottom idea.

Message: You need to keep the heat OUT of the plenum. Insulating the belly pan would have the most effect. This is why air gap manifolds run cooler. Powdercoating the inside front and back may help a little. Coating the rest would probably result in a slightly higher air charge temperature.
