I don't know for sure. I can tell you though that the 4.7 came out after Daimler stepped in. Daimler=Daimler-Benz=Mercedes-Benz

The 4.7L is a Dodge design. It was in the works even before Daimler was in the picture. (The Jeep was one of the first to have it.)

Bernd gets the prize,he is 100 percent correct.Chrysler made that engine. And for those that don't know this...the 4.7 is a true truck engine[heavy duty crank,rods,wide bearings].
