You cant just "throw" a cummins in your truck without a lot of modifications. I only know of one truck where this has been done but it was done by a team of engineers with a lot of designing. But it can be done.

underhood room might be a problem, but if its not, drop her in. i would say you might need to beef up the front suspension, and maybe hood modifications. room is the biggest problem i can think of.

and they had to make the front fenderes longer than stock to fit it
if you look under the hood of a Ram with a 360 there is almost 6 inches clearence for the 2 longer engines (v-10 and diesel) the diesel fits in there,
now look at a 360 dakota, its pretty well packed in there, no was in hell you could get one to fit unless you have "sidewinder" written on the side and you work for Gale Banks Engineering :D

There are a few Dakotas running around with the V10, so why not a diesel. If the six is longer than the V10 it would be a whole lot of work.

yea its def not happening after looking into it i found out i would been to do a lot of cutting out of the firewall and transmission tunnel and shift all the controls back about 8 inches...thats some serious shyt man...it would of been a monster tho

People have thrown in the frito lay truck 4 banger turbo deisels though. Not as much power. But very good mileage.
