I have a 2001 Dak 2.5L I want to get rid of the 2.5 and put something else in. Could I fit the v10 in my truck? Also what parts could I use off the old motor?

uh... if your serious about swapping that 4 banger out... youre gonna open about 2,348 industrial sams club sized cans of worms if youre looking to put a v10 in (viper i assume). wayyyyy better off swapping in a 360 or 408.

itll fit in there... with a big azz shoehorn. ive seen 2 or 3 viper dakotas over the years.
i cant imagine the level of fabrication involved in that project.

The worlds fastest truck has a V10 in it. Really a twin turbo cummins. I think its called Sidewinder.

415 stroker?.... never heard of it. if youre talking about drillin out a 360 block, i think youre gonna have some sidewall issues

Hey pete, what do you think a twin turbo cummins is? A Gas engine? The worlds fastest dakota with a diesel is the Sidewinder (Twin Turbo Cummins). Just a little info to bring you up to speed.

People have put v10s in PT cruiser, if you can fit one in that you could fit it in a Dakota. You would probably have to change steering linkage, modify the firewall, use a pusher fan, rewire the engine bay and build motor mounts for starters. With the tougue the V10 has though I dont think you could ever get it to hook up short of racing slicks and 4 bar rear suspension. A strong runnign 360 would be a lot easier swap, but I have to admit I cant think of much cooler than a V10 Dak, except maybe a 528 crate hemi dakota.
