Subject: This time, it was an Infiniti G35! IP: Logged
Message: I know the girl/woman, leaving work turing on the highway, open flat hwy, ~30mi s of Houston.
We had already talked about her fast car, an infiniti G35, with a 280hp @6200, 275ft/lb torque, 6speed manual. She's had it over a year and know how to drive it.
From about a 15mph roll, ending about 95mph, I smoked her! A 6speed manual 280 hp G35!
We met up later, and I said, I was racing, and she replied so was I and that I had smoked her.
In my QC truck, NA 4.7, 5spd manual, Ho cams, SC tuner, etc.

Message: jechtx, don't count out all women on knowing how to drive a car hard. my wife is one of those. she would drive her gran prix gt to the limits everytime she got in it. the first time i rode in it with her driving i realized why i couldn't keep tires and brakes on that thing for very long. after that if we were going in her car, i drove!

Message: I really wish people would shut the f*ck up about the street racing thing. Total hypocrites! You can honestly tell me you mod your truck to drive under the speed limit?! You can honestly say you have NEVER gone over the speed limit? Nobody can say they havent. No different between five over versus twenty over. Even old people in cadillacs speed pretty badly here it Atl. Is street racing unsafe? YES! But then again so is speeding period. You cant bash one without the other. You can lose control at 90 mph but you still can at 50 mph. Yes racing can kill, but then again so can someone doing 45 in a 35! And most people do that. Surely you have hit the gas hard to pass someone. So tell me the D@mn difference! Aggressive driving is still aggressive driving no matter what length you go to. Im a decent driver, havent had a wreck in my 8 yrs of driving. Except being rear ended in rush hour traffic doing 25. But i'll be damned if someone chellenges me and i dont accept. And ill be damned if someone having a modded up truck sits here and preaches. I smell hypocrisy!!!

Message: I will tell you why street racing is dangerous. yo uhave 2 cars that will do anyhting and not back down when getting in to traffic. I have seen one car cut off other cars to get ahead. and if you cant back down from a race. then your very insecure. so what if someone blows by you and taunts you. why become childish like them. differnece with driving fast and racing is you dont have 2 idiots like you driving like a moron weaving in and out of traffic. cutting off people on the road to try and get ahead of the person you race. creating a dangerous situation. while just driving fast its just one car and the person driving is more relaxed unless he has an emerency. so dont try and sit there and justify racing. if yo uwant to race then goto the track and race. keep it off the street.
but the way your talking I can see your about 16 and think your so cool. I just hope you wake up and realize this before you put yourself or someone else in the ground for good.

Message: Maybe you missed the part about, I would only do this on out of town highways, flat, no interchanges in the area, AND NO TRAFFIC, I guess that was on the post about the Reg cab, V8 dak I beat.
I would never, ever do this around others cars, weaving in and out, now THAT IS Stupid.
I have two young children, you know a family that depends on me, an excellent profession, etc. I'm not stupid. I NEVER follow too close, ANYTIME, especially in my DAk, with it's well, less than stellar brakes. I have State farms lowest insurance rates, etc.

Message: TexasTodd - I believe you man. Why?,,,cause I beat a 2dr. G35 the other day in Austin (black w/big'o chrome rims if anyone knows it - few stickers on the back,,clean looking). Not $hitting you,,or anyone else. Little ricer boy was quite upset too,,,maybe it was the 30inch wheels slowing him down,,don't know,,they were HUGE rims though. We started at a light,,he spun a little,,we were side by side most of the way,,but when I shut down at 60mph he was just at my bumper. My friends all say I'm full of it,,,eh,,,it's what happened,,,,the dude was ballz-to-the-wall in it,,shifting hard.
I have an '01 cc 4.7,,headers, cams, intake, little schtuff.
Peace,

My MotorTrend in front of me specifically states that an Infinity G35 does 14.8 seconds in the 1/4 mile at a race track with their professional drivers behind the wheel.

Message: If it runs a 14.8, then yeah I can believe it. But I know the 350Zs run low 14s. I do believe him, but I don't think that he should compare his Dakota to it b/c it wasn't a fair matchup, unless they all run 14.8s

Message: OK so the Infinity does 14.8 at the track with a professional driving. Thats about a 15.2-15.3 with the average driver and maybe 16.0 with joe blow or in this case jill blow driving. Could've happened.
Todd what does your truck run?
And on the street racing thing. It is very dangerous even when there is no traffic if one driver is unexperienced at racing. Gearheading your car alot is nothing like racing. My wife is a very good driver and occasionally gets on it but I'd hate to see her in a panic situation such as could happen in a street race where your usually alot closer together than at the track.

Message: im 16 years old, street race, but i still agree with everything all the people said. its dangerous stupid and can kill people that arent in the race. tell me how that is fair. if i ever get challanged i usually try to bring them out to one of 2 roads which are completly vacent. other then that i stop at traffic. the hot heads are the dangerous ones, not the people that arent scared to lose so they dont wreck their truck they worked to pay for

I can see being stupid and swerving into traffic just to win. But if no one is around it's their business.
Who ever is so worried about it just better stay in their facking house. You are more likely to get hurt just being stopped at a red light. :P

Message: The 14.8 came from an automatic which has 20 less horsepower and it was also the heavy awd version. Even with awd it's one tenth slower than the rwd version. 20 more horses and a stick is an easy half-a-second difference.
