Message: I bought one of those 2 piece 'metal' intakes for my 4.7 awhile back. Don't think it's from the seller you're talking about here, but the intake looks like what I bought.
The tubes themselves were of surprisely good quality and fit like a glove, but the filter and couplers were absolute junk and were immediately tossed out. Went back to ebay and picked up a nice new K&N filter, and a good set of silicone couplers (including the clamps), and I now have an intake I'm extremely pleased with. I think I ended up paying around $80.00 total for what looks like a very commercial grade intake.
Before anyone says anything, notice I've never said "cold" air intake (till now...). Obviously, an intake like this, which sits entirely in the engine bay, is not going to directly bring in any "cold" air. The fit on mine is such that the filter ends up way down low in the engine compartment, right where the snorkel from the stock intake used to sit. I figure whatever air that used to be fed right into the snorkel is now directly hitting my K&N, so it can't possibly be any worse then the stock intake.
One last thing, in the ebay auction you cite here, I would say the $20.95 is WAY out of line. You may want to look around ebay some more for others selling the same thing, only with more reasonable shipping costs...
Good Luck...

Message: If you basically eliminate most/all the engine compartment air, like my homebrew CAI does, I call it a cold air intake. But, now honestly, I can't say it's any better, theorectically, maybe.

if you got money to burn go for it, otherwise save your cash for better parts, don't fall into the trap of buying every little piece of junk out there that claims to do something for you

Message: I have the AirRaid MIT tube and corresponding filter on my 02 4.7 along with 40 series fmasters single in and two out. I added both those mods at the same time so I think a combo of the both improved my performance. 22 horse increase on dyno, MPG from 14 average to 17 average, and I actually can hear it sucking underneath the hood when I get on it.

Message: I just recently bought and installed a 360 intakez for my 02 4.7 Dak Sport 4x4 and have noticed an immediate 2 mpg increase, you can deffinantly hear the engine sucking in air when you hammer down the right foot. The total cost was 175 shipped including powder coating of your choice of colors too. Home brews work the same but I wanted it to look great too. I'll post a pic when I figure out how to on this web site.

Message: Hey Big Ed, did you have any fitment issues with your 360? I found it was a pain in the a$$ to put in. Also, where is your IAT sensor located on the new kit? In the elbow?

Message: It fit really well i thought. I left the IAT sensor in the manifold, I'm debating weather to move it or not. My kit did'nt have a port to put it into, I'd have to drill out a spot I guess.
I'll have to loosen the whole works to change the filter though.

Message: Must be because I have an 04 I guess. My IAT was actually in the TB hat and I had to relocate it in the silicone elbow.
