Subject: Cuttin out on acceleration IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 Quad cab 4.7 with 65000 miles, and the problem I am having is when you stomp it down from a stoplight, it takes right off and then it starts woom woom cuttin out. Just like it runs out of fuel. I cannot figure it out. It has new plugs, new air filter, and I have cleaned the throttle body. Any Ideas?

Message: That is the part that sucks....its in the fuel tank. Have to pull the tank or, easier, tilt the bed...and pull the module out..some have a filter/regulator on top, and a screen in the bottom. Some even do not have a replacement screen on the bottom of the fuel module...have to replace the WHOLE module...300-400 bucks from the dealer.

Message: I would say a fuel filter. The factory ones usually only last 40,000 miles.
Don't the 4.7 dakotas have two filters, one in the tank and one in the fuel line????
