Message: well, Car-Stats.com lists it as 15.6, but I am sure I can run better than that, I have several mods to the engine, but I wish I had a 3.91 rear. I am stuck with a 3.55, but at least it still goes 117Mph, and not 90 something.

Message: so I guess 17 for quarter time with a Club Cab, 4.7L, 3.55 5-speed is a little bit of Mis information; I haven't tried the quarter yet, but I know with my mods I am Liable to run mid 15s, to low 15s.

Message: 15.2 isn't bad, they say a stock R/T gets 15 flat, the cams I got and Intake + TB combo probably give the most power out of my 5 mods, Headers probably don't give much. I might go down to my local strip and see what I get in the Quarter, but from what I hear, they only do the 1/8th now.

Message: I bought my truck off of my brother when he got a 2003 HO 5.9L Cummins 6-speed, and he is the one that put all of the mods in my motor, when he got the dakota, he could of waited a little longer and got the Reg cab with 3.92s 4.7L 5-speed, I wish he would have waited.

Message: Dakotasport-
I also have 2001 Reg Cab 4.7 5-speed. Where did you get a short shifter? Hurst only applies to 5.2 engine.
Dgdakota-I have 3:55 rear in my truck and I cannot keep traction in first gear even with LSD. I start in 2nd gear even when racing. I can't immagine what 1st gear would be like with 3:92...totally useless. Now, in a 4x4 with larger tires and more weith, I see the point.

Message: before I got 32 inch tires, I could Bark the Tires really good hitting 3rd Gear at 60 + mph, and leave a really nice Black track, but now it is harder too.
- IT is hard keeping traction in First, but I use it racing anyway, I just work the clutch good, and once I hit 2nd - well you all know, the crap hits the fan for that Honda, or Toyota or whatever.

Message: I am thinking about getting 3.92s, but I will have to change them for the front and the Rear, if I had a 2wd it would be easier,
- I might end up getting Powertrax rear locker, maybe sometime in the future,
- maybe I'll get hte HO intake manifold to go with my HO cams, just to complete the package.

Message: the h.o. intake will not provide your 4X4 with usable gains, the only thing it provides is high rpm hp at the expense of significant low end torque, get a new, larger, mandrel bent y-pipe instead.

Message: yea, that sounds about right, I'd Rather have Low End Torque. If I had a 2wd, it would be better to get the HO intake Manifold. My Brother Told me, that with my truck ( his old one ) that I should not get the HO manifold, he said the Cams are all I need, which is what I got.
