Dude,

This thing is nice. It installs in about 30 min (if you don't drop your 10mm socket down into the valley between the valve cover and the intake manifold. It replaces all the factory airbox and intake plenum mess. Now that all the silencing is gone, the 4.7L under my hood sounds like an old school hemi with all 8 barrels open. It HOWLS!! Now my 4.7 is making power well above 4700 rpm, but my butt-dyno is only so accurate. Look for drag strip results around the end of July (I have lots of travel to do between now & then). It's $208 from TruckPerformance.com. I could've made a home-brew for lots less, but not in a half hour (and this thing looks sweet, too). GO to volantperformance.com to see an installation photo.

Thanks. I've been real curious about that intake.

I am undecided among the Airaid, Z-tube, and the Volant. Anyone else with opinions good or bad, please post.

Looked at the install picture and like what I saw. Looks nice with that goofy air hat or whatever they call it (plenum) and air box both gone.

I just installed the Volant air cleaner this weekend. It was a tight fit, but it sounds and performs great.
