Message: Okay, I finally got my tax returns and one item I used it for was aFe MAGNUM FORCE INTAKE KITS p# 54-10372. For a couple of reasons. One it places the filter right next to the rubber flap by the grill just like where the 3.9/5.2/5.9 kits do but a bit closer. Two it is closed off by a box so the hot air will not be allowed. Also, I payed 260 for it, thats about equal if not less than K&N which puts the filter off to the side to suck up hot air. And a bit more than AIRAID but you get more than just a filter and box for 200. And again, putting off to the side. Plus, I got a 7% discount, free shipping, and a free recharger kit for that price. So, Im pretty happy. Now, Im just waiting for it to see if it fits, it should considering the 4.7 is the bigger brother to the 3.7. I'll keep you up dated cause I know how all of us 3.7 guys are dying for the aftermarket to kick in.

Message: Got the intake, install it and am happy with the results, of course, not eveything went smoothly, will post the pics. Couldn't install heat shield. Plus, it looked like it was restricting the cold air, where I removed the rubber flap.

Message: Yes, you could feel a difference. A bit in the first couple of miles, but mostly after the PCM learns. I use to barely lose to my buds 4.7 CC only when I gave him a wheel lead, but now it doesn't matter I can kill him. Those 4.7 have good torque to get out of the hole. But 2nd I creep a bit, then from 2nd to 3rd shift, I take off. Will, get a vid of it, for anyone who feels im full of it. But next mod is Hughes Modified 3.7L throttlebody. http://www.hughesengines.com/general/fuel_injection/37_throttle_bodies.asp
About 10 to 14 horsepower at the rear wheels they clam from the TB. But, I'll send those pics and also posted in here.

Message: Yes, I can use the 4.7 throttlebody, but it has to be 00-02 years. I don't like that fact of putting older parts on a more new engine. So, I'll just pay the 175 to Hughengines to have my throttlebody done. Good price for a 10-14hp increase.

Message: 04silvsxt AAAAhhhhh i see said the blind man. Tell me how that turns out with the tb upgrade from hughengines. Have you called krcperformance.com looks like they may not do it. we shall see.
Angel no problems. I thinks it was worth it. The difrece was not night and day but a change. my advice to you is move the rubberflap on the radiator to force more air into it if you do so.

Message: It came with a heat shield, picture didn't come out very good, but it wouldn't fit. Since we have a 6 instead of the 8 the engine seats back more. So you can install the heatshield, but the intake wouldn't reach it. In fact it gets in the way, so you have to throw it out. Plus, it boxes it off from any on coming air, hot or cold. So I just tossed it out and removed the rubber flap. And its a go. Im posting pix by typing this command < img src="URL HERE" > minus the spaces for the < > ,you upload the image to the web and place the URL in the " ". And it will post.
