Subject: To R/T or not to R/T IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys whats up, just been thinkin alot about a new dakota. Right now i have a black 97 CC 4x4 5.2 with homebrew and flos dumped before the axle. I put black AR 767's on wrangler MT/R's. A little custom audio and thats about it. Ive been thinking alot about an R/T. Probably a CC but not sure. What do you guys really think of those R/T's? I live in Iowa so the winters suck. Are they fairly fast? Would a cc 2x4 4.7 be just as fast? Im just looking for something new and different. How much for my truck? has 127,000 SLT damn gtg the professor is eyeballin me

Message: I agree with lee. I have an 03' R/T with intake, MSD, Gibson headers, transgo shift kit, cat back exhaust, & a few other bolt ons. Out of the box they're fun. Spend some $ on bolt ons, and then you've got a pretty quick truck. Winter is the challenging time of the year. Traction can be a problem. Personal experience-Yes, the truck will go sideways in the rain at 50 mph if you stab it! Bottom line...........BUY IT.

Message: I've got a 2000 R/T CC, but my opinion doesn't count. Parked all winter. I do see 1 or 2 running around with snow tires. If it's your only vehicle I'd say stick with your 4x4.

Message: R/T's can be fun all year round. Just depends on the tires you run and how you drive. If you were to get the R/T, I'd suggest finding some stock wheels for your current Dak, and keeping the AR's for use in the winter and mount them with dedicated snow tires. Or if you want to run the R/T wheels all year round, use the BFG G-Force KDWS tires. They work good in the snow(personal experience) even with 250RWHP on tap. As far as mods, or other suggestions, my biggest suggestion woudl be to wander over the the Delphi Dakota R/T message boards. Lots more knowledgeable people over there to answer any questions or modding fixes you might want/need. http://forums.delphiforums.com/dakotart
