I was wondering if anyone knew what the fuel economy of a 408 is. I have a 360 longblock core here and i am thinking of building it up .... but I dont want to create a 8 MPG gas hog

It all depends on how you set it up. You can easily create a large motor that gets good mileage. Do some research, and contact a reputable engine builder. They can steer you in the right direction.
