Nevermind. They wont work from Hotmail, or my own computer. Maybe they are the wrong format.

Glad to see im not the only one with a 4 banger. I use it to haul my 2 dirtbikes and light loads and it performs great. 98 sport-clubcab awsome gas mileage! all stock 105,000 mi.

Well at least somebody is getting there four banger Dakota to work. My '94 strugles with a two place snowmobile trailer on windy days. With two sleds on it I can get about 60mph on windy days.

Man i jinxed myself! Now Im hearing a loud squeek coming from the lower back every time i go over bump, i think maybe the shocks. At least its not in the engine. When the motor gives out i want to put the strongest v8 that'll fit into it. Curiously I called the local truck junkyard and they said they had a 2001 V6+Trans+Comp with 60,000 Mi for 2,900 Installed. Sounds tempting.
Is there a forum or site to find out about 4cyl to 6 or 8cyl Upgrading know hows and whats needed and not?

You know to all the v8 guys out there i agree there is more power and ways to make it better. However I too have a dodge dakota sport with a 4 cyl. and i would go the distance to make it a high performance motor. the reason for that is simply because uniqueness is way better than doing wat everyone else does. Hell look at all the mustangs running around it makes me sick to look at because everyone has one. So if i can make my little 4 cyl dakota out run a mustang i would be truly greatfull.

I just finished converting my 89 dakota with a 2.5, I converted it to a 2.5 turbo intercooled engine from a daytona shelby, dont worry the daytona was wrecked. It was not a very complicated conversion.there is plenty of room under the hood and dash. Instead of changing the fuel tank, I used a external mount, early 90's Cadillac mounts easy, the presssure is 45-50 psi. and there are plenty of those in the junk yard.Make sure you have electrical schematics for the dakota and donor car ,some wire colors change. As soon as I get a working printer I will post photos of the transformation. dump the clutch and it will go sideways, and 30+ foot of rubber if you flatshift 1/2.the other upgrade will be a suregrip diff.It is a little scary in the rain. The plus side if driven gingerly it will achieve 24 mpg highway. Not counting my time I did everything for about a grand.
