What are your thoughts about this custom system? Do any of the members have this system?

Don't do it!!!!! it is just a home made job you can make it yourself for less than that. it is just PVC Pipe you can get at Home Depot and a filtrer you can get at you local auto parts store

Thanks, Chris...I was privy to the cold air induction "homemade brew" but was wondering if, when everything was said and done, the cost of this system would be more or less. I was also figuring in my own laziness in contructing one of these systems myself. :-)

From the pictures on the site, am I correct in noticing that the stock hat is used? If so, is there any air flow restriction that would not be seen on another system, say the K&N or the Volant?

David

P.S. Please don't shut up :-) Folks like you have really eductaed me these past few weeks and I am extremely grateful!

Art,

I have the 3.9, which the Z-Tube and Stage III doesn't fit, apparently, but the Stage II looks to be a worthy system for a good price. I have emailed John for what he thinks is a good "config" for the Stage II on my 3.9l.

You guys have me going "horsepower crazy" :-) I really believe this engine has potential, but as it is now, it needs a little help a little at a time. I'm hoping an addition of something like this IP system might be a good start.

Keep in mind the price of the K&N filter which could cost about $35 - $50 after shipping and tax from Summit or similar. So if you factor in the laziness factor, the Ebay item can be considered a good deal. Two abs pvc 60 degree pipe turns will run you around $3 each. THen you need the straight pvc pipe and the glue and probably clamps. So, I estimate the cost to make one of these about $55 to $60. I am making my own for my 4.7L and the biggest cost is the K&N filter. I did finally find the cone K&N filter 9" for my setup on Ebay. Got filter for $15.
