Subject: WTF? A little help here...
IP: Logged

Message:
last night I was driving south out of boston on 93 - I was in the left lane cruising at around 70 when I rolled up on a maxima in the middle lane. The guy gave it some gas as I approached on his left, I gave it more. He countered and before I knew it my foot was mashed to the floor and we were both going balls out. Now I have a 01 QC 4x4 with a few mods but I didnt think I could beat a Nissan Maxima. I started to pull away on this M.F.-er and he tried to stay with me (110mph) but I kept creeping ahead. Wasnt a blow away by any means but damn it felt good. What engines did Nissan offer in its last round of Maximas? I know it was a newer one by its shape and rounder tale lights with the black filler. God that was fun (Even though it did cost me a quarter tank of gas!)haha

I have a 5.2 in my 4x4, and after 100, it doesn't have much asseleration. With that in mind, I would say the guy had a few people with him, he wasnt really on it, it has some kind of speed limiter.

Nissan Maxima 2.4L inline 4 cylinder.
Same engine as in my Nissan pickup.
Nice of him to let you beat him like that.
You never said what engine is in your "01 QC 4x4".
Probably better that way.

2.4? I dont think so. He did say it was a newer model (not the clunker you mention)
The 04- 05 maxima has a 3.5 v6 w/ around 265hp. 2000-2003 are the gen 5's which had a 3.0L producing 222hp standard.
If you were up against one of the gen 5s and assuming you had a v8 producing minimum of 235hp before the mods you refered to, I would say it would make for a pretty interesting match up...
Against a gen 6 (2004-05)...I dont think so, unless your mods included a SC or NO2...

The truck specs were actually left out intentionally - I always love to see what kind of dumb ass comments some of the flamers on this board come up with. Ya know this would be a really good, technical site of the boneheads with too much free time kept their worthless comments to themselves. I have found many people to be of great help when needed with the occasional retard mixed in. I love how you guys are so quick to bash and cut people down. Funny thing is I was there and we was a RACING!
Oh ya...Truck is a 4.7 blown to 7#, cams and 40 series cat back flowmaster.
Have a nice day, meatheads

I don't know racer. My 4x4 dak has plenty of acceleration above 100. I hit my first over drive at about 107, then it just takes off again and pulls strong up until i hit 118.

The worthless post in this thread is at the top of the list.

Who died and left you the tester of technical quality?

If you're gonna do that, do it with a post that has some technical aspects to it.

And "You Loser" - You must be the leader of the meatballs, sticking up for them like that. Um, who died and left you as moderator of this forum?
The point of the oringal post was to share a story and inquire about the nissan maxima - Ill stand by what I said earlier..some people here are helpful (thank you "What??") and some are just a-holes. If this or any of my previous post offended you then you fall into the later category. Bite me.

I agree with QC. Sammydogs - Wats a pretend dakota? A S-10 with R/T badges?haha

QC - Did you have your computer flashed with the cams and the SC? I have the HO cams and am thinking of getting the flash to get a little more out of them.

Ya right. Im and idiot, youre and idiot, yo momma's an idiot - WHO F-ING CARES??????
Your value and insight is overwhelming.

"Question" - No flash but I was think of doing it. Ive heard the cams can benefit a little from it...But with the SC Im not too sure dumping another couple hundred dollars in the computer will make that much of a difference. I think I want to get bigger injectors and maybe some other fuel mods to help the boost - Any ideas on this?

A flash would be more beneficial to a supercharged vehicle than a naturally aspirated vehicle.

A flash is just as beneficial to a naturally aspirated truck than to a supercharged truck. A flash can take into account each mod that has been done, especially hotter cams, true dual exhaust, and head work.

meathed - From what I understand there are a few different limits set stock in the various PCMs. I had mine up to 115 before - I beleive thats the limit on mine...kind of ran out of road to find out that time. Others on this board have mentioned they have a 115 limit as well, and still others cant get over 95 (?). I also believe a flash can remove the top end limit (although Im not too sure I would want to go much faster in my QC).
