the project sits at a standstill as we speak, its got teh 17's and the belltech taken care of. Now its time to do something with the 125hp V6. My question is that of will the trannsmission in my dakota match up with that of a 360 block, and will it withstand the HP it will see from it? its just the 3spd auto so my hopes are not to high!

Probably withstand the HP but not the torque. Replace it with one from a 360 and save yourself the grief.

the 904 will work,you need a different convertor or flex plate from B&M because the 360 is ext. balanced
the 904 is quicker than the 727 because of the lower first gear
it will that the hp/tq just have it checked out before you have it all put together[they use them racing]
may be a good idear to have a rebuilt done to stop problems late,its not the costly

uummm, and the fact that the rpm differences are so great, in OD my 1990 dakota runs at 1900 RPM @55 MPH, my 2001 Ram with a 360 runs 1400 RPM @ 55 mph
same thing gies with the 1995 5.2 that im going to put in my 1990 dakota, im takin everything out of my little brthersdakota, he rolled in and im stealing the engine/ tranny/ transfer case andthe pcm and the whole works
i know the transfer cases are the same, his jsut has 70k less miles
oh, btw im a long time poster here, i jsut now came back cuz this summer im putting a 318 in my gen1 dakota, SWEET
on thing is though does anyone know if i can put the hubs from my 8.25 rear end and putthem on my brothers 9.25 axle?

i dropped a 98 mag into mo 4x 1990 dakota last summer.... you will want a factory wiring schematic for both 90 and 95 cus the wiring goin through the 50 way bulk head is different. 90 has RWAL and 95 dosnt.... just a heads up..... alo electric pusher fan on front of rad
