Message: I've got one. Installed it in about 3 hours with simple tools.
"Precise manuvering" is a bit different from the open diff. Turning radius is a bit larger. You'll get wheel hop(inside wheel of course) accelerating out of or through tight turns. The tires get worn out quicker. The fronts will have more wear on the outside edges than usual. The rears will end up square shouldered. I rotate my tires every 5000 miles and the wear hasn't been that bad. Every once and a while you'll hear a loud metallic clunk. It's the "couplers" unloading and locking. After a few months you'll be used to it. Excellent traction. All I need now is some sort of cable actuated locker for the front diff.

Message: would you recommend the powertrax, or a regular posi for a street truck? it is important to me that this truck handles very well.
thanks for your input.

Message: I had a Powertrax set up on my S10 and damned if it wasn't worth it! They say it effects cornering, but like MrMan said, it's not a huge difference. These are trucks, not circuit racers. Besides, the gains in traction are far more then worth the slightly added tire wear. Also, it makes taking your 2WD off road a much more enjoyable experience - I never got stuck once after I added the Powertrax to my old truck (course, I wasn't stupid about it - I didn't decide I could suddenly tackle any and all obstacles, but getting stuck in the mud wasn't near as much as a problem as when I'd had just the one tire doing all the work).
