Message: My truck has 32 rear and 34 front. '02 quad 4x4.
That is the warm weather pressures. My approach was a bit different when I first established the proper pressures for it.
I took the truck on a long straight road, pulled over to the side and used a paint pen to make lines across the tread in a couple of places on each tire.
I then drove a bit and slowly pulled over to check how the lines were wearing (tried my best to turn the wheel slightly only). I adjusted the pressure until the lines wore evenly across and left just a speck on the edge of the tread. Then I did the same after heating the tires on the highway. I found the comprimise and the pressures above are the best for my truck. If I load the truck for a trip or other long drive then I usually will up the rear accordingly.
In the colder months the pressure for me ( I dirive mostly city and short trips) is increased 2 lbs front and rear. If I were driving mostly highway, I would leave them the same as summer. Of course be sure to adjust the pressure when the tires are rotated AND tell the oil-change guy NOT to touch the pressures.
