Hughes Engines gets two thumbs up in my book on their Stage III TB. I put it on my truck this week and bam, the truck is totally diffrent. I can barely take off without the tires turning over, I am afraid to see what happens in the Rain. HughesEngines Kick Ass....

? -- 24# and 30# FMS injectors, can I use them on my 5.2L 1998 Dakota? What should I expect to see in the realms of performance and will my Mopar PCM have any Problems with them as large as they are? Also I was wondering where the cheapest S/C " Powerdyne" probably can be found out there?

P.S. Dyno #'s will be here this week for my truck...

The Hughes Stage III TB, is that the 53mm version ? What other mods do you have ? FMS #19s' may be all you need.

MSD 8.5mm Plug wires
And I just ordered a Cam from HughesEngines and Springs. I also just ordered the MP 1.6 Roller Rocker kit from Mancini-Racing.com (P5249800). I can't decide if I want the Chrome or the Black wrinkled valve covers though. Oh by the way this is a R/C truck.....I really would like to do the S/C, but money is starting to Fade fast....

I would wait until you get the blower before going to #24 injectors, some guys who have installed them have gone back to #19s' due to the engine running too rich. I installed a set of FMS #19s' and am very happy with them even with the 480/512 cam I'm using.

You can get away with 24# injectors but it may run a tad rich at idle. 30# injectors will require recalibration though. (Custom PCM programming...not cheap.)

Stick with the FMS 19# HighFlow (about $200 from Summit Racing)...they're plenty for a mildly modified V8 (or V6). If you plan on supercharging it, 24#.

I have a question concerning the Hughs stage 3 TB. His website says 325.00 for the throttle body with a core exchange, then it seems like you get shafted on the core exchange and end up paying him more just because it is a used TB you send him, even if he does the work on a used TB he has there. The flowmetrics TB seems like a better deal to me. A core exchange is usually when they do the work on a throttle body they supply then they charge you for that TB until you send yours back at which that point they charge you only the 325, not any more. Hell he wanted damn near 400.00 for everything. I'll just buy a flowmetrics, the best TB out there.

And if you get the blower, make sure you get an A/F gauge to make sure you aren't running lean under boost. It'll be the best investment you make, in my opinion.

I payed $501 including shipping for my throttle body before sending back my Stock one. After I send it back I'll get $125 back. $375 total is not that bad for this TB compared to what it did to my performance. I don't think I'll send by TB back though since they are not emissions legal. I live in Orange County, Ca.

By the way anyone interested in maybe starting a Dakota Club of some sort in my area( SoCal )?

i live in Hacienda Heights (about 30 min north of HB) i go down to main st. every now and then. every 3rd saturday of the month, there is a dak meeting at speedzone in city of industry. you should go.

this is the fastest way to get speedzone from HB

605 N to 60 W.
get off at fullerton RD and go left.
at gale (2nd light) go left
at stoner creak make another left, and it's on the right.
