The local Pirelli dealer's mechanics told me they have very noticable wheel chatter or bounce above 60 MPH. He proceeded to tell me that they (Pirelli) are prone to this. I now run AA traction rated BF goodrich KDWS comp T/a's they are Ultra high performance all season.

I use to have an 87' Firebird with Pirelli tires on it. They have awesome performance. Great traction, but at freeway speeds there was a lot of wheel chatter!

I'm running a set of scorpion A/Ts in size 30x9.50 R15LT on my 87 K5 BLAZER 4x4(while I rebuild my DAK)They were a good buy at sears about six months ago and after 5,000 miles I can 't detect any wear at all! The wet traction is kinda sorry but they were excellent in the sand at Padre Island Natl. Seashore. I get a little bit of vibration at 55-60 mph but at 65+ they're smooth as I'd expect from an old piece of chevrolet. I LOVE BFG all terrains but the budget didn't allow them(it's all goin' to gofast stuff for the Dodge). When I got them, I could've gotten 31x10.50s for only $10 more each but the 305 in the K5 barely gets out of it's own way as it is!
Hope I helped,
CC

I had the pirellis on my dakota. They did vibrate above 60mph. They were not that good in the snow. wouldnt recomend them. Just bought some goodyear wrangler mtr's. Best investment so far

I have Scorpions on my 2003 Volvo XC70. These are the best tires I have ever owned. Excellent dry and wet road traction, low noise factor and I haven't noticed any chatter above 60 mph. and I do A LOT of highway driving! It may be that they are better suited for this kind of vehicle. They are the 235/16 STR's I would highly recommend the Scorpions.

I had them as well and was not to happy with the treadwear. I had to replace them much sooner than the original Goodyears.

These tires sucks.
They are very noise,(like 4x4 tires), and i never was able to get it nicely balanced to the point that i almost start to play w/ other sistems trying to adress the vibration caused by these umbalanceable tires.
After 15k miles, they are now behind my chad, waiting to be given to some one.
