Subject: 2003 modified stock reg cab r/t

I read an article on trucktrend.com. The article talks about a dakota r/t for the last year (2003) in production. It states the the reg cab model comes stock with different performance parts for the previous year. Are all 03 r/t's come modified stock? Here is the link if you want to check out the article

my understanding is that they produced a couple of those with the heads and cam package towards the end of production.

heads and cam..sure more hp but then you lose a lot of low end needing gears, stall convertor, i see no mention of headers and they only upgraded the cat back..and i guess they stayed with the stock throttle body..no mention of a mopar pcm or increased shift point rpm to use the top end they gained.

to me it sounds like a sales geek approved the enhancement package and it probably just pissed the performance techs off for not doing it the way it should/could have been done.

I'm gonna have to wave the BS flag on that one. There may have been some dealer installed packages, but you couldn't order straight from DMC like that and there's a very slim chance that DMC would allow there MP parts to go on the production-run vehicles.
