Message: Computer ( PCM ) will learn all by itself about
any changes you make ..
DO NOT get any ' flash '...
It is usually only done by the Dealer
when you complain about pinging
It reduces the ping by backing off " retarding "
the timing ..
You end up with less power..
By all means get a cooler air intake
and change therm to a 180..
better way to reduce ping and get more Power...

Message: What "?" posts is only true about the dealer flashes - very misleading. Custom flashes usually advance the timing, I saw nice gains from the Leach flash I got. Pinging isn't a likely problem with the aluminum head 4.7 as I have, I only need to run higher octane when towing. It would be helpful if you state which motor you are wondering about.
