drums last three times longer, you will probably not change them during the lifetime you own the truck, especially since the rears dont wear as fast

Yeah, and they also don't help as much for stopping power as disk brakes. There is a reason most vehicles com from the factory with 4-wheel disc brakes now, and it's not becauuse of the great performance from drum brakes.

they're fine for the rears on a truck. very light back end. do you need much more stopping power back there. you'll just lockup or use abs faster. upgrade the fronts. bigger pad surface area, bigger rotors, whatevers available. that's where your stopping power is on any car. especially a truck
