Message: How is the 5 speed tranny with the 4.7. Is a a smooth shifter. Does it clash gears. Is it easy to find the gears. Also how is the clutch is it hard / Soft. How is the feel once you get used to it. How is it compaired to a S-10 5 speed.
I think i will buy one in a few months. Jeffster talked me into the 4.7 over the 5.9 so i will give it a try. My friend owns a 4.7 auto and its great but my friend with the S-10 said that he test drove a 5 speed dak and the shifting was crap. Thanks.

Message: Having a stick is a matter of preference. I have only bought 2 new vehicles in 35 yrs that were autos (I prefer sticks). The shifting in the
DAK is fine no problem finding gears and it is a
relatively short throw.Go to a dealer and see if
you can test drive a 5spd DAK to find out for yourself. It doesn't matter which motor v6 or v8
as both use the same tranny. If you are going to be towing unless you are getting 3.9 gears or taller
a stick will generally tow more weight.
Y2K DAK 3.9L 5 Spd OS/2 Keeps going&going&going
