Message: What kind of air intake do you have? Do you like it? What did it cost you?
Considering my options here...damn K&N Cold Air Intake system is expensive.

Message: Not a big fan of the "homebrew" custom intakes that some people make. I say, spend the extra money and get an Intense Performance Z-Tube. I think it cost around $275 or so. I love mine, and it looks good under the hood. No use buying something for $50-$75, spending some time fabricating it, and then replacing it a year down the road. Do it right the first time. As for Z-Tube vs. Airaid vs. K&N Fipk, well, that's up to your preference. They all do pretty much the same thing.

Message: I use a stock intake. It cost about 24G, but came with a neat Dakota pickup attached.
If you're into aesthetics, by all means spend the big bucks for an overpriced piece of bent tubing.
If you want the exact same function, and don't care how it looks, because:
1. You drive around with the hood closed and no one can see it anyway.
2. You enjoy modifying your ride with something you made with your own two hands.
Home-brew!

Message: another mark,
the air going through the tube is traveling WAY to fast to be heated up by a metal tube, but I do agree with you on making your own.
