Got a 4x4 Dak with the 5.9 and 3.92 gears. Modifications are 52mm TB, Tony's intake, 8.5mm wires, and a Flowmaster 70 series muffler. What should my next mod be? I'm looking for more off the line oomph...Thanks

Ric

MSD Blaster Coil, maybe an MSD Ignition as well. Headers would be nice as thats your bottle neck right now, the new M1 Intake from Marty at KRC Performance.

I'm not sure how much gain you'll see with headers. Unless you can do something with the two precats and that wimpy factory y-pipe. There's your bottle neck(s)! I spoke with JBA about their headers and what improvements I might see ... they couldn't tell me if I'd see any gains.

Ric - I am curious about your 52 MM throttle body. The ones that I've seen advertised were suggested to go on "highly modified" 5.9Ls (ie headers, chip, thermostate, cam, etc). I am thinking about upgrading my TB (2001 5.9L QC, auto) and would like to go with the 52 MM in case I did some more drastic mods latter on. Presently I have a Jet Stage 1, Gibson catback, Airaid TB spacer, K&N factory replacement filter. I have bought (but not yet installed) Jet under drive pulleys. I intend to do more stuff like headers, MSD, Cold air. Fantasy stuff does include a cam, upgrade heads, ZZZZZ

I was concerned that going to the 52 MM TB now, without the more drastic modifications might "bog" my engine or not provide notable performance increase. What has your experience been? How about MPG changes?

Thanks

Blizzard, I notice you have the same 01 version of my truck. You mentioned two precats, I assume a cat as well on the 5.9L. Is this the setup you have? My 2k QC 4x4 has a single cat and is tiny and that is it? Was there a change or are you refering to the 4.7L trucks?
