It seems Sniper is about to introduce a 4.7 tuner as well. RPM Outlet also sells Jet Chips, so take it with a grain of salt. Also, check out the "Plasma ignition" for entertainment. www.rpmoutlet.com/dodgestat.htm

My SC tuner came in today. I was in on the GB.

Hope I don't get an error code like some others have.

I want to dyno first with 87 octane that my truck runs great on, then install, up the octane, and dyno it again.

Definitely share your dyno results.

Do you know if this Superchips 4.7 tuner works on ALL 4.7's?
Like my 2003 with the 4 plug PCM???

My tuner was delivered yesterday, but now needs to be returned for further updating. I received the "Tuner Requires and Update" message.....

DagNabItAll!!!!

GraphiteDak, it is "supposed" to work on all 4.7s through 2003 (not 2004 though).

There is a good dyno graph on Dodgetalk.com. It shows peak gains of 13HP and 25TQ, with at least a 5 HP/FT-LBs gain across the power band. He ran a stock run, an 87 run, and a Performance run. His only mods were a Volant air intake I believe.

The cool thing was that the 87 program split the gain difference between stock and the 91 program.

Update from the above post. Since I can retrieve the stock program easily, I decided to install before a dyno. I have to return it to stock before dynoing b/c I already have many, previously proven mods, and need to compare it to my engine before and after.

No error codes, and no MIL lights, yet anyway!

But dyno results:01, 4.7, 5spd MANUAL, mods,.....
It gets to the rev limiter @6K mcu quicker, and smoother. (It says no adjustment for the rev limiter?)-that kinda pisses me off.
Each gear pulls stonger over the entire curve, it didn't use to be that constant and smooth.

This is butt dyno, I'll do the dyno comparison, and share results soon. I may have found one of the least expensive 'dynojets' around, near my neighborhood too, -3 pulls for $50.

It says it changed the max speed limiter too. Mines already at 115mph, I couldn't test that one today. It's hard to find a safe place to do that actually, but there's a road going to my workplace that's ideal when no other vehicles are on it, which is relatively often.

OK, I looked at the dyno and the SC dyno on the
Dodgetalk.com boards. Man, It sure is hard to get around on that board!

somethings smelly here.

His best dyno, on the perf. setting, with 91 octane, WAS ONLY 203HP!,
on the 87 setting was only 190hp!

LOL , that what some guys have put down stock! 203hp? Can't wait till I dyno!

Well that's 13 HP on a STOCK engine right?

Wonder how it does for a 4.7 with cams and bigger TB?

Oh. Did you say it does NOT up the rev limiter?
I hope that's just with a stick!
I know some rev limitations can be from the clutch disk LOL!

I'm wanting a programmer, partially because I want the rev limiter moved up 500 to 725 more RPM's.

Keep us posted.

Dan. What truck you got again?
Are you the Dan who has the same truck as mine?

Graph, I have a 03 Club Cab 4x4 with the 4.7, with a manual in it. So, yeah basically the same turck, JBA Catback, K&N FIPK, and bosch+4s. I installed it and I am sure it gave me the option of raising the rpm limit by either 250 or 500 rpms. I went with the 250 and KNOW I can rwch at least 6000 rpms now. I think the stock is about 5800 right? So for me the rev miniter has been raised. OF course it also has an adjustment for tire size, but it adjusts it from the normal stock tire size, meaning 30" tires. So if you got the tire and wheel package with the 31's then you will have to do some figuring to figure out how much to increase it easpcially if you have put bigger tires on it. I am currently running pro-comp 32's. Other than that I am very pleased with it so far.

I think our stock wheels are about 30's.

I had 245-70 16's stock
I replaced them last month with meaty 255-65 16's
It gets going with less slip now. I still need my 4.10's and LSD.

I've got to order one of them in a few months.
I'm glad to hear it worked on an '03!

Hey, btw. I hear that the ball joint recall may not apply to our 2003 or newer Dak's. Have you checked into this?

I guess the bad ball joints we discontinued at the beginning of the 03 year, like early january. so it depends on the exact date your truck was produced

Dan,

I've got one of the Group Buy's SC tuners for the 4.7. Mines a 2001, w/ MANUAL.

When installing the programmer, at least on the 87 octane rating, it DOES NOT let you raise the rev limiter! It does let you raise the speed limiter however!

I only made 4 more HP, and and 4 more ft/lbs of torque on that setting.

I'll elaborate on a new thread.
