FLDak, do you need a spare tire, jack, wrench, tire winch and related tools? This should give an idea of where I went with the idea and the luxury items removed. There is a lot of carpeting and other metal shielding that was just piled up as I went along. I have filed up three boxes now with excess parts.

There should be a link to a page with some compiled information on the website. This is all excessive... :)

Damn, thanks for the info, rgathright!!

I believe I'll be getting the 2.5" true dual split rear exhaust.

As I don't know jack about this stuff--I only know I want increased power and sweet sound to go with it--how much can I expect to be charged for someone to hook all of this up for me?

(hey, at least I know I'm ignorant)

Assuming you have a 4.7L, play with the homebrew intake. $150 and 3DB increase in engine sound.

I recommend the true dual exhaust, you will need $800 though to do it. Make sure when you order an exhaust system that you get a legal warranty stating all parts will be replaced free of charge if anything is of the incorrect size. This is very important, since our Dakota's differ between model years.

Thanks, and yes, I do have a 4.7L (2002 QC 4x4 SLT+). It's already got a drop-in K&N (on that note, is an FIPK, like from K&N, similar to what you suggest with the home brew CAI?).

Yes, the true duals is about $850 with tax/shipping, but please tell me how much I can expect to be charged for its installation? Remember, I'm not a mechanic and no nothing of this stuff so I've gotta pay someone to do it. Thanks again.

Find a NON FRANCHISED, hot rod out back, exhaust shop in your town. You can expect to pay $200 or less for the work, including welding and stock removal. I always make it a point to dress down and be real nice to the employees. Feel free to hang around the floor (outside for insurance) while they work, that way if something goes wrong you can offer instant advice. I decided at the last minute I wanted my pipes to have chrome tips put on and exiting side by side.

Important, after you are done, take some Aluminium or Silver colored header paint and paint the welds. This way they will not rust very fast.

Thanks again for the quality advice. I've contacted GS Motorsports for their policy regarding parts that don't fit/replacing for free. Hopefully, they'll respond soon.

I've already located, through a friend, a very reputable local shop just as you describe.

I'm very excited about this true-dual system!

GraphiteDak: Perhaps, but for those of us who don't have the means (not to mention the capability), I wonder what we're supposed to do? I don't mind spending more as long as I'm getting quality, and GSM appears to be that.

Good luck on your new system!

I recieved a call from SoCal Motorsports, and they told me that the programmers will be shipping during the week of the 13th (Dec). He also said it will do everything that the normal programmer will do (the one with for the 5.2). If any of you can get on that group buy that is going on, then you should, it is $100 cheaper.

Well, I git the call from the guy at So Cal Sports yesterday.

They charge your card, before it's ever shipped. At least there's security in using a credit card, and he did sound legit and trustworthy. NOw that I think about it, how can you sound trustworthy?

And the 30 day guarantee.

Now, I'll finally have to dyno my engine before and after!

Can someone post the link of that yet?

i wouldn't worry about paying for it ahead of time. that was part of the plan. he spend $30,000 on the programmers just for our group buy. a guy needs to hurry up and get that back in his bank account or off his line of credit. besides, that was part of the original group buy plan. he can't yield 100 calls the day of shipping so it would delay us more and we want to get the paperwork out of the way so the day he gets them he can ship em out that morning, not having to spend his three days groundwork at that point. no need to worry. i can't wait.

excuse my haste - as I haven't had a chance to research this programmer much - been muy busy. Has anyone w/an auto - and maybe HO cams - got theirs to work w/out an error code yet? If so is it worth the $300?

I did volunteer my truck and have not gotten my programmer yet. I should have gotten it 2 weeks ago per what they told me when I donated mine. I can wait until they have a final product with all the bugs worked out though.

I've looked, can't seem to find it on the other forums.

Can someone please post the link to the dyno graph?

Or was it a typed in # about what they said the graph was? I mean, is there a scanned in graph?

TIA
