Message: I was askin my bro about TB spacers and he said dont get them cuz it just gives less space for the air to flow thorugh cuz theres more to block the air. Is this true?

Message: shouldn't be, tb spacers should be the same size or a little larger then the tb barrels. The idea is just to get a little more velocity on the air droping into the engine.

Message: In short, NO.
The primary reason not to buy one is that they simply sit there and do nothing for performance or gas milage.

Message: I have to agree, I've read enough from performance sites that indicate clearly that Spacers don't do anything for your truck. Dyno results are posted, and I believe you can even read a email concerning this sent to a spacer company by the dodge truck.com website. Ask any speed shop that isn't trying to make a quick buck off you, and they will all tell you that spacers are just expensive paper weights.

Message: Some vehicles do benefit from spacers, just not most or all that have port fuel injection.

Message: Spacers typically are only good for carbs that are susceptible to getting too hot. The spacers keep the carb body cooler and keep it from warping. For throttle bodies, only air flows through them, and a spacer won't cool that air noticeably, so it is a waste of money.

That's only partially true and only true if the spacer is made from phenolic or other insulting material. Some carb/manifold combos benefit from the increased plenum size and increased air velocity. The portion of the throttle body above the plates is the best place to increase velocity in our case. As far as I'm concerned, I believe most keggers would benefit from reducing the volume. I'm also sure that you will find no shortage of people that will disagree or agree with that opinion.

Message: put a NOS powershot spacer in there. That will give you some gains.
